A range of materials including a variety of natural stone, coloured insulated render, timber panelling, copper, cladding, metal panelling and metal windows on the elevations will all form part of the external quality look to the building.

In the residential sector, generally external walls will be formed by high quality coloured render, treated plaster timber, reconstituted stone, timber cladding and polished block work or metal cladding.

Three of the main streets within the town centre area are covered with a protective roof over and are the focus of the retail core of the scheme. This is a light weight material called ETFE. This material is lighter than glass or plexiglas, and has no reflection properties.

ETFE provides the streets with protection from weather, whilst allowing sunlight in.
